Overview of ACCA Manual S® - September 20, 2022 at 9AM ET

Overview of ACCA Manual S® is a training opportunity that covers the basics of how to select and size heating and cooling equipment to meet Manual J loads based on local climate and ambient conditions at the building site. The Overview of ACCA Manual S takes the nationally-recognized residential load calculation standard and breaks it down in a way that's easy to understand and apply. The purpose of this program is to enlighten the user on the acceptable range of sizing possibilities for a given type of equipment. The user should have a working knowledge of ACCA Manuals J, D and T in order to use Manual S intelligently.

Heating Basics - October 4, 2022 at 9AM ET

THIS IS A TWO HOUR COURSE. Heating Basics is a basic skills class for service techs or a refresher course for senior technicians prior to the beginning of the fall/winter season. Instruction is offered on all basic skills including:

Types of heating systems
Fuel's used in heating systems
Proper venting
Combustion air requirements
Efficiency Distribution systems
Proper use of a Manometer
Airflow Diagnostics
Correct use of a Multimeter
Plus, Much More!

This is all about the heating systems. Hot air systems, hot water systems, and the fuels used to heat both air and water. We will take a fundamental look at things that will allow a fuel burning heating plant to operate efficiently and safely. Topics that will be covered will also include what to look for on a good or bad installation as well as some basic troubleshooting techniques on heating systems.

Ed comes to ACCA with over thirty-five years of HVAC experience, and more than twenty years, delivering technical topics from his time as the technical director at Eastern Heating and Cooling Council based out of Mt. Laurel, New Jersey. Janowiak has over fifteen years of practical experience in the field as a service manager, technician, and installer - working at various companies, and as the owner and president of Bramante Energy, Inc.
